Arts and Social Justice – 0710CP Grades 9 – 12 .5 Credits Semester
The course will be a study of how the arts, including music and visual art, raise critical issues in our society as they pertain to social justice. Throughout history, the arts have been used as an accessible tool for communication, raising awareness about social issues and affecting positive change. This course will be designed to inspire dialogue and provide real world learning opportunities. The course will result in a final project where students will express themselves through a final arts project, guided by the teachers, responding to a social justice topic that they are passionate about.
