Grade 9 students can only take this course in their second semester, once they’ve completed
Sculpture 1.
Sculpture 2 is a continuation of Sculpture 1, focusing on advanced techniques and concepts in three-dimensional art. Students will expand upon their knowledge of materials and techniques, such as material fabrication, construction, and casting. They will delve deeper into conceptualization, exploring ideas and themes through their own personal vision and style. Through the study of contemporary and historical sculptors, students will develop a deeper understanding of the evolution of the medium and gain insights into various approaches to sculpture. This course will challenge students to push their creative boundaries while incorporating MA Visual Art Standards and Studio Habits of Mind in project-based assessments.
